- In this class learning the new skills we have been taught, they have been very beneficial for this class and others. It is a way to really let your reader know what an article is about and how you think about it when using the coming to terms process. Also, what I have learned was the use of metacognition. This process helped me realize the best way to understand another writer’s work, and how to define their meanings of their work. I believe these two processes really strengthened my reading and writing abilities.
- I think some of my struggles had to do with perfecting the processes we were practicing. Even though, there is always more to improve on. I felt that I kind of got the right ideas most of the time, but sometimes it was little pieces of the process that I would tend to miss. Also, the challenge for me at the beginning of the course was to get used to reading articles and writing chunks the way you wanted us too, It was a bit challenging to write a certain way other than a CAST format that I was used to in high school.
- In this course I had a couple moments in time where I felt like all the work I put in actually pulled off. When I did well on the final papers for some of the sections it made me very satisfied and surprised that I did that well. It showed me that not only in english, but in life and other things. If you truly put a consistent effort into your day to day tasks, you will be successful.
- Things that I will take away from this class are a few things. If you are assigned a writing task, remember the work and questions we were asked to write about before I conduct a final paper. This means the drafts and revisions that were needed to take place in order to write a good piece of writing. Also, something I will take away is the use of signal phrases and picot words. You enfuscized these techniques the whole year and I could see for myself how they can make a piece of writing more professional.

Thanks for this reflection. It’s good for me to hear about the course from your perspective, especially where you found your wins!
