2. I believe they didn’t doubt their conclusions because they felt as if they were picking the best candidate possible based off of the log test. Meaning, every time they had to do this they would always pick the one to push through and lead the group to get the log over.
3. Cognitive fallacy is the minds failure in ones thinking. For example, thinking the result is one thing based on one another but after they tend to realize that the new soldiers are not effective at all, besides in the test.
4. The illusion of validity means to believe something is acceptable or valid based off of information you see or have about what your assessing. But, after your assessment you realize it wasn’t valid from the start.
5. The biasing tendency of WYSIATI is…People who impress the scouts so to say are the ones who will most likely be sent out to the military. This is the case because they assume if one does well in this specific test it can correlate to the battle field which is were they can be wrong.
6. According to the text we are prone to think we know how the world works and are predictions are valid. One way of why we think that way is because of our experiences in life causes us to make assumptions, before we even really think about it.
7. Having confidence in someone according to the article is an ease feeling that comes to the mind when thinking about the person completing the task, even when the evidence is unreliable and too little to make an accurate choice.
8. In the article the author explains how people who win recently are more likely to do better than someone who has lost recently. This claim correlates to their judgment of skill because they believe whoever does the best or wins the physical test they would be the most likely to do well in combat.
9. The illusion of skill is believing you are good at doing something because you have past information that is contained in your brain and is used as a guideline. But, this can cause immediate assumptions which can cause an illusion of ones skill.
10. According to the article to develop true intuitive expertise is learned from past experiences with good lessons on mistakes in the area you are assessing in.
11. According to the article you can agree with an intuitive judgment when you have been in quality experience and the quality and speed of when they discovered the mistakes.

I don’t know how to transfer an image, to a file, then to this site, from my phone. If I can just show you my annotations tomorrow, that would be greatly appreciated.
These are pretty good notes recording some of the most important ideas in Kahneman’s essay. And your annotations show you summarizing as you go.
The next step is to engage the material in the essay – ask questions of it, come up with your own examples, argue the other side, say why it matters….. That will improve your command of the ideas and you’ll better be able to use them in your paper.
